I am Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of Undergraduate Studies at Southern Illinois University. My research focuses on judicial politics generally, with a focus on state supreme courts, and interest group participation in the courts. I am currently working on several projects, including an analysis of the impact of state judicial retention methods on interest group behavior. I am also involved in a project which addresses lower court compliance with Supreme Court decisions. I teach a number of courses at the undergraduate level, including Civil Liberties, Constitutional Law, Judicial Process, and Introduction to the Legal Process. I also teach a graduate seminar on the Supreme Court. I also serve as the Pre-Law Advisor for the Department. I have included a number of links to my research and teaching interests on my webpage. In addition, I provide a number of references to political science resources and information for those interested in law school.
